Durga is a symbol of courage. power, conviction and dignity. 

She is seen as the protector of danger and destroyer of evil. 

In one of the texts it is said that she rode out to fight a demon. 

On the way to the fight many of the other gods provided her with 

weapons to meet the demon. On the battlefield the demon sent out 

his army and other demons. Durga defeated all of them and
